Job Description Summary

Provide Hematology / Hemostasis instruction to first year Medical Laboratory Technology students in the classroom and practice lab.

Duties

Instruct MLT 120: Hematology/ Hemostasis course to the first year Medical Laboratory Technology students. Supervise students in classroom and practice lab environment. Develop teaching materials, activities and handouts for the course. Participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation activities to improve the instructional quality of the course. Maintain professional certification and seek opportunities for professional development. Perform duties assigned by the Department Chair.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science;
2. ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist;
3. Three years of clinical experience in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Teaching experience at the college level;
2. Recent experience in clinical Hematology and Coagulation;
3. Master’s Degree.
